Team Leaders

N´weti is a non-profit organization founded in 2008. The national leader in health communications and positive social behaviour changes, it focuses on sexual and reproductive rights, HIV, gender-based violence, family planning, and nutrition.

N’weti is seeking dynamic, experienced professionals committed to gender justice to lead the implementation of the EU SOU CAPAZ Girls Empowerment Program in Cabo Delgado, Niassa and Sofala provinces, for an anticipated 24 months project.

The Team Leaders will be responsible for overseeing the full operational, strategic, and technical delivery of program activities, ensuring coordination with stakeholders, alignment with project goals, and delivery of high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, coordination and technical guidance for program implementation on district and provincial level
  • Lead the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of activities in line with project objectives and timelines.
  • Coordinate with key partners including the National Youth Institute, implementing NGOs, schools, and local authorities.
  • Ensure integration of gender-transformative and youth-centered approaches.
  • Oversee financial and administrative management, including budget planning and reporting.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team, ensuring performance and capacity development.
  • Serve as main liaison with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other institutional partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Public Health, Education, Development Studies or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in program leadership roles in youth empowerment, education, or gender equality.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, donor-funded projects (preferably World Bank or similar).
  • Strong capacity in coordination, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent knowledge of national gender and youth policies and local context.
  • Fluent in Portuguese; working knowledge of English is an asset.
